FEATURES

PSRTTY features

Explore radio connections and switching, RTTY reception and transmission, QSO logging and contest files.

PSRTTY

RY Skimmer

Added RY Skimmer. Decode multiple RTTY signals simultaneously from IC-7610/IC-7760 or RTL-SDR IQ input and show callsigns and countries on a vertical scope. Added connection and DLL search guidance.

RY Skimmer and RY Radar use independent windows. Open them below Subdecode in the View menu. Double-click a displayed station to tune to its frequency.

Added JA-BAND ONLY to both windows. Limit the display to normal Japanese terrestrial RTTY segments; overseas stations within those frequency segments are also shown. The setting is saved.

PSRTTY

RY Radar

Added RY Radar. Poll RBN and other sources for RTTY spots, display them by band and retain them for up to 30 minutes. Added age-based colors, connection status and error messages.

PSRTTY

RIT controls

Improved independent RIT operation and state synchronization, reducing display flicker. Added −/+ buttons beside the slider and a STEP setting.

PSRTTY

CALL, RST and country names

Improved CALL extraction from receive cards containing a single or repeated callsign. Cards with an identified callsign show its DXCC country/entity name.

Prefer 599 when it is among received RST candidates, reducing incorrect selection from sequences such as 299 599, 399 599 and 599 299.

PSRTTY

SWR, PWR and FSK status

Fixed SWR/PWR readings during FSK transmission on supported radios. Display switches and the 2-second hold after TX remain available.

In FSK configuration, a verified RTTY/RTTY-R mode is shown as green “FSK” instead of an ALC gauge.

Audio-level ALC polling and the audio-settings warning are omitted in FSK mode.

PSRTTY

Logging without a retrieved frequency

When a QSO has no frequency, show the other station callsign and a frequency input before logging.

Apply the entered MHz value to this QSO and derive its supported band. Use the same value for ADIF, HAMLOG, UDP and other links.

Cancel leaves the log, external transfers and serial number unchanged. This also applies to TU73 automatic logging.

PSRTTY

FSK keying transmission

Added per-Profile FSK keying transmission. AFSK remains the default and existing AFSK settings are preserved.

Configure the FSK COM port, DTR/RTS, polarity and RTTY mode. Connection and transmission tests are available; reception continues through Audio IN.

FSK supports 32 ICOM entries, three Kenwood models and 10 Yaesu entries, with model-specific connections, radio settings and manufacturer references.

Serial keying for TX; Audio IN for RX. Neither primary nor secondary Audio OUT is used. Check radio RTTY mode, 170 Hz shift and Mark frequency. Keying polarity is independent of RX inversion.

PSRTTY

MACRO button colors

Added MACRO button colors under View. Choose the standard colors or three named presets for F1–F9 text and backgrounds.

Colors support RGB entry and a color picker. Saved settings persist after restart; discarding unsaved changes requires confirmation.

PSRTTY

Direct TX

Main 1TX sends one line and stops. Direct TX accepts two lines. TX while typing defaults ON, with a 0.5-second correction delay. Pending text is blue-gray; sent text is black and bold.

Choose auto STOP from 1–9 seconds after all pending characters finish; default 2, saved across restarts. Idle TX repeats LTRS, producing MARK and SPACE. Idle LTRS is not input, progress or logged text and never extends the STOP timer. New input resets the idle deadline. Pending correction delays and transmitting characters prevent idle STOP. STOP occurs at an RTTY character boundary, with a small possible delay.

PSRTTY

zLog / Z-Server

Send newly recorded PSRTTY QSOs directly to Z-Server for real-time registration in connected zLog clients. This is a one-way link.

QSOs are retained on disconnect. IDs and contents are checked before retrying. Status confirms server registration only; also check the zLog log. ADIF export remains available. TLS/login and reverse edit/delete synchronization are not supported.

PSRTTY

ADIF UDP settings

Send ADIF by UDP after saving a QSO

In Log4OM2, enable UDP Inbound service ADIF MESSAGE and use the same port. Initial example: 127.0.0.1 (same PC), port 2236. Adjust to the receiver settings.

Send each newly saved QSO once. Edits, deletions and old logs are not sent. UDP cannot confirm receipt or registration; no automatic retry. Send failures preserve the PSRTTY log.

PSRTTY

Windows app volume / Windows input volume

PSRTTY app volume on the selected output. The gauge shows the volume setting. Checked without transmission or audio playback. If unavailable, see the reason below.

This affects other software using the same input device. Values change only when you operate these controls.

PSRTTY

Manual with external PTT

No CAT/CI-V. Set frequency and mode on the radio. Enable External connection and select Radio PTT control. Frequency and meters are unavailable.

Hold to check that the radio enters TX. No audio is sent. Release to turn OFF; automatic OFF after 3 seconds.

PSRTTY

Live and buffered reception

Buffered reception now groups text by continuity of decoded frames.

Rejected frames or short gaps split runs early; the character limit applies to each run, reducing the joining of isolated short bursts.

Live display remains separate. Updated guides in all eight languages.

Settings

Up to six Profiles

Profiles store radio, audio and station settings. Copy, rename or delete them in Settings. Switching from the top-right button disconnects the radio, then attempts the new connection if previously connected. The chosen Profile stays active even if connection fails.

Connection

Radio and audio setup

Select ICOM CI-V or Yaesu/Kenwood CAT and configure audio devices. IC-7760 is included. A successful test connection ends after about 10 seconds and prompts a normal connection. Audio input works independently. Models and available controls vary.

Radio control

Control window

Enter frequency, select bands, jog, STEP and model-specific modes. Supported radios offer NB/NR/NOTCH, FILTER and TUNE. Hamlib reads/sets NB and NR (DNR on Yaesu), and supported filter widths. TS-890S/TS-990S width is set on the radio. Check availability in Supported radios.

Reception

Spectrum and main decoding

View MARK, SPACE and center; click or drag to tune. Set shift, AUTO TUNE, width/position RESET, display gain, SQ and decoding on/off. AUTO TRACK follows signals, with optional clearing of QSO fields after frequency changes.

Reception

Cross scope

View MARK and SPACE traces separately. Latest and previous traces overlap, with older traces fading. Improved lines and A/B labels help show tuning and reception. Also opens from View.

Tuning

C tuning

Shows received-signal offset from the configured center in Hz and color. Weak or unidentifiable signals show “–”.

Reception

Sub-decoders A/B

Receive-only A/B windows provide automatic sweep and manual tuning away from the main position. Main decoding takes priority. Click a line to copy a recognized CALL. Check your contest category rules.

Subdecode now hides received text of two characters or fewer. Added a hint that double-clicking a Latest QSO entry opens its details.

Audio

Receive/transmit level adjustment

Audio IN and OUT are configured separately. Adjust RX using the meter; use RTTY test tone and PTT while connected or after a successful test. Test transmission stops after 10 seconds. Supported radios show an ALC guide.

Audio

Second Audio OUT

Send the same audio to a second device. Store enable, device and independent 0–200% volume per Profile. Save the main output first; the same device is excluded. With disconnected transmission enabled, either working output suffices. Secondary errors do not stop main transmission. Disabled by default.

Transmission

F1–F9 macros / Auto CQ

Edit templates for normal QSOs, short English RTTY, JARL WW RTTY and CQ WW RTTY. SENT initial/fixed settings follow templates. Manual sending is available; connected Auto CQ transmits F1 the configured number of times. The “Allow transmission while disconnected” setting also applies.

Re-send FIGS before digits or symbols after a space.

Fixed contest numbers being decoded as letters by receivers with USOS (Unshift On Space) enabled.

Applied to AFSK, FSK keying and direct TX, preserving compatibility with receivers without USOS.

Changed repeated numbers in the standard JARL WW RTTY and CQ WW RTTY macros to 001-001.

Extract a single exchange from identical numbers repeated with a hyphen.

External connection

External equipment TX control

Switch RTS or DTR on an external COM port before PTT. Set enable, polarity and delay to PTT to match your wiring and equipment.

Printing

RTTY printer

Automatically print main RX, TX or both via USB serial. Configure connection, test printing, queue clearing, interval and firmware response wait. Disabled at startup; default is RX with one-character filtering enabled. Errors or a full queue stop acceptance without blocking QSOs. Check printer compatibility.

QSO

QSO recording and editing

Check CALL, RST, exchange and time before logging. Optional automatic logging follows a successful TU 73 transmission. Shows prior worked bands and BAND in recent QSOs. Supports editing/deletion and automatic CALL extraction from CQ.

Integration

Transfer QSOs to Turbo HAMLOG

Transfer QSOs to HAMLOG after manual logging or automatic TU 73 logging. Processing follows CALL entry, Enter, QSO data, verification and saving. Mismatches show the field, sent value and read-back value. Frequencies use three decimal places in MHz. The original ADIF remains saved if transfer fails.

Data

ADIF, raw logs and filtered export

QSOs are monthly ADIF in UTC; RX/TX raw text is daily TXT in JST. View switches display/manual entry between JST and UTC while retaining the instant. ADIF export filters period, own CALL, band and QSOs without changing the original.

Data

HAMLOG CSV export

Export 15-field Turbo HAMLOG CSV without a header, in CP932 and JST. Time ends in J; exchange goes to Remarks1 and optionally own CALL to Remarks2.

Contests

Cabrillo export

Create general, JARL WW RTTY or CQ WW RTTY files by selecting QSOs and entry details, reviewing and saving. JARL supports score/multiplier review and manual classification. CQ WW scores/multipliers are not calculated; claimed score is optional in the 2026 official format. Check current rules and submission pages.

Integration

ADIF for zLog Reiwa

Export general, JARL WW RTTY and CQ WW RTTY ADIF for zLog 3.0.4.0. Preserve exchanges in remarks. After CQ WW import, check/correct state/region exchanges and multipliers. Open settings from Integration.

Protection

Backup and updates

Back up ADIF and raw logs together in ZIP manually, on exit or after a set number of QSOs. In-app updates validate added files. If updating from an old release fails, overwrite the existing folder with the release ZIP contents.

Language

Eight display languages

Japanese, English, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai and Spanish are available. Japanese is the default. Select a language in the Language menu and restart. Missing or unreadable language data falls back to English while preserving your selection.

Audio transmission and the second Audio OUT are for AFSK. FSK does not use Audio OUT; reception uses Audio IN.

Controls and settings vary by radio. Some models were added from documentation and are untested on hardware. Check radio and audio settings before transmitting.View model selection →
