ICOM

ICOM / CI-V

Models with direct USB connection

Selecting a model fills its standard CI-V address; edit it if changed on your radio.

IC-7200/7410/7600 were added from documentation. Set filters on the radio for IC-7200/7410/7600/9100.

ICOM / CI-V CABLE

Models without direct USB connection

These radios do not connect directly by USB. Use a CI-V cable or interface and connect audio through suitable cables/interfaces too.

ICOM / CI-V + EXTERNAL PTT

Models also needing an external PTT interface

No direct USB connection. Frequency read/control uses a CI-V cable or interface; audio requires a separate connection.

PTT requires an external PTT interface in addition to CI-V.

OTHER ICOM

Other ICOM

Other ICOM allows manual CI-V address and other settings. It does not guarantee all model-specific controls or connection behavior.

Yaesu

YAESU / CAT

Models with direct USB connection

For USB models, match Enhanced COM, CAT speed and stop bits to the radio, and set DATA input to USB.

YAESU / USB CAT + EXTERNAL AUDIO

USB CAT control with a separate audio connection

FT-891 supports CAT control over USB but does not provide USB audio input/output. Connect audio separately through an external audio interface such as SCU-17.

YAESU / CAT CABLE or SCU-17

Models without direct USB connection

FT-817/FT-817ND, FT-818ND, FT-857/FT-857D, FT-950 and FT-450 do not connect directly to a PC via USB. Use a CAT-compatible cable or interface, with a separate connection for audio input/output.

External connections for Yaesu radios vary with the interface, cables and PTT method, including setups using SCU-17 or Digirig. “Verified on actual hardware” indicates confirmation with the reported setup. Configure CAT, audio input/output and PTT to match your setup.

Kenwood

KENWOOD / CAT

Model selection / connection

Experimental Hamlib support. Check model-specific connection and control settings.

Available controls depend on model, mode and readable state. Unsupported/unreadable operations are disabled. Start with Help → Initial Setup Guide for connection and model notes.
