FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about first connection, RX/TX levels, logs and updates.

What should I configure first?

Follow Help → Initial Setup Guide: station, radio, CI-V/CAT, COM, Audio IN/OUT, connection test and macros. With one USB radio, select model/audio devices. Multiple radios need explicit COM settings.Initial setup →

Why does it show Disconnected after a successful test?

Test connection is not operating connection. It ends about 10 seconds after success, waiting for active test TX to finish. Press Connect again in the main window for operation.

Can I receive without connecting the radio?

Audio IN is independent of CI-V/CAT. Select the receive device and check RX meter, spectrum and text. If audio arrives but decoding fails, check MARK/SPACE position and SQ.Aligning reception →

How do I adjust transmit audio?

Select Audio OUT; use RTTY test/PTT while connected or after test success. It stops in 10 seconds. Use ALC guidance if available, otherwise watch the radio meter.

Can Auto CQ run without a radio connection?

Auto CQ needs a radio connection. Depending on settings, disconnected audio tests are limited to macros/manual sending.

How do C tuning and cross scope differ?

C tuning gives center offset in Hz/color, or “–” if undetermined. Cross scope shows MARK/SPACE shapes separately. Both help align reception.Reading the cross scope →

Can sub-decoders A/B transmit?

A/B are receive-only. Sweep/manual tuning finds other signals; click a recognized CALL to copy it to main. Main decoding has priority. Check contest-category rules.

Must I reconfigure each time I switch radios?

Up to six Profiles store radio/audio/station details. Switching disconnects and attempts the new radio if previously connected. Failure keeps the chosen Profile and shows Disconnected.

Are all controls available on every radio?

Controls depend on model/mode/readable state. Unsupported functions are unavailable. Distinguish verified models from models merely added to the list.View supported radios →

Does sending TU 73 always log a QSO?

Requires auto-log on, an existing CALL and successful complete TU 73 transmission. Stopped transmissions do not log. Check CALL/exchange/time first; manual Add to log is also available.

Why do display and ADIF dates differ?

Display/manual entry/daily raw logs use JST; ADIF uses UTC. Late-night JST QSOs may be the previous UTC date/month. Monthly ADIF folders follow UTC year/month.

Where are logs and backups stored?

Operating logs are stored under logdata . ADIF is monthly UTC, raw TXT daily JST. Backup ZIPs go to logdata/backups . Configure manual, exit or QSO-count backups.

Can I export only some QSOs as ADIF?

File → ADIF export selects period, own CALL, band and QSOs, leaving the original unchanged.

What can Cabrillo export do?

Select QSOs and entry details to save Cabrillo. JARL WW supports score/multiplier review and manual classification. CQ WW does not auto-calculate scores/multipliers, but in the 2026 official format, claimed score (CLAIMED-SCORE) is optional, so you can submit without calculating it. Upload it yourself and check the saved contents against the official Cabrillo specification and contest rules.

Updating from an old version fails.

Large version gaps may break in-app updates. Especially from ≤0.88, get the current Windows ZIP, back up data and overwrite the existing folder. Development patch ZIPs and GitHub Source code are not executable update packages.Download current release →
