IC-705 Slim Frame (2023.6)

IC-705を持ち運ぶフレームセット。 - Frame set to carry IC-705.

2023年6月に、FT-817のCATの調子が悪くなり、DATA通信に支障が出たため、IC-705を購入しました。そして恒例のアルミフレームボックス作成に取り掛かかりました。

In June 2023, purchased an IC-705 because the CAT on the FT-817 went bad and interfered with DATA communication. So started making the customary aluminum frame box.

ファーストモデル。バッテリーやチューナーなど軽い装置を選択したが、想像より重くなってしまい、この程度重くなるのなら、装置にもっと良いものを使った方が、無線通信結果は良くなると考えています。尚。ウンパスくんのサイズは約20cm。

First model. I chose lightweight equipment such as batteries and tuners, but it turned out to be heavier than had imagined. If the equipment is to be this heavy, I think that the waving QSO results will be better if we use better equipment. Note, Wumpus's size is around 20cm.

電池ボックスを加工して、uxcell 平行線ノッチヒートシンク 50 x 69 x 36mmを組み込むことにしました。接触面には熱伝導シリコンシート、これは良く働いていると思います。

Machining the battery box to incorporate an uxcell parallel wire notch heatsink 50 x 69 x 36 mm. Thermally conductive silicone sheet on the contact surface. I think this is working well.

2023年6月11日のJARL東京支部50周年企画の東京大学会場にて。2ndモデル投入。細かいケーブルなどを完備して、持ち運べるようストラップも取り付けた。そしてチューナーを強化してAH-705に換装済み。

At the University of Tokyo venue for the JARL Tokyo Chapter 50th Anniversary event on June 11, 2023. 2nd model introduced. Fully equipped with fine cables, etc., and straps attached for portability. And the tuner has been reinforced and replaced with AH-705.

正直悪くはないが、思いのほか良いケーブルを用意したにもかかわらず回り込みが激しいところ。大した出力でもないのに発生するのはIC-705特有の問題に思えます。この点を重視して再度リファインが必要と反省を残すことに。

To be honest, it is not bad, but despite having an unexpectedly good cable, there is a lot of jaming noisy. So the waving include to cable returned. It seems to be a problem peculiar to the IC-705 that occurs even though it is not a large output. We have to focus on this point and refine the cable again.

様々な組み合わせや少量のフェライトコアを移動させ、少しは交信できるがキャリアを扱うなら満足と言えない。付属機器の入れ替えもしたがUSBあたりでパニックしているので、やはりIC-705のUSBチップ周りの問題だろうと予測しています。

I have moved various combinations and small amounts of ferrite cores around and can communicate a little, but I can't say I'm satisfied if I'm dealing with a carrier QSO. I have replaced the attached equipment, but it is panicking around USB I/F, so it must be a problem around the USB chip in the IC-705.

USB周りを改造する。これは軽微な改修。そもそもにMicroUSBの耐久力が不安なので、USB Type-Cを簡単に使えるようにしました。

Modification around USB. This is a minor modification. Since I am not sure about the durability of MicroUSB to begin with, I made it possible to use USB Type-C easily.

USBケーブル自体の処理はFTコアを試用してみる。手間のコアは留め具化。

The USB cable itself is processed with FT cores on a trial basis. The core of the hassle is clamped ring.

フレームを改修。アンテナ基台を装備、バッテリーの配置を変えました。

Refurbished frame. Antenna base was equipped and battery placement was changed.

PD15V給電。アンテナチューナーは電池交換し易いように背面置きになっています。

PD15V power supply. The antenna tuner is placed on the back for easy battery replacement.

アンテナとケーブルは袋にコンパクトに収納し、ケースバンドで固定して運びます。

Antennas and cables are compactly packed in a bag and fastened with a case band.

アルインコのアルミ複合板という新素材を発見しました。カッターで何度か切り、深い切れ目を入れて力を入れると綺麗にカットできました。

I found a new material called aluminum composite plate from ALINCO. It can be cut cleanly by cutting several times with a cutter and applying force with deep cuts.

IC-705の画面を守る板、兼用アース板に加工。容易にセットが強化される。あとでバンドも外れないようにしておきます。

Processed into a board that protects the screen of the IC-705 and a dual-use grounding board. Easily upgrade set. And will also strengthen the band to prevent it from falling off later.
